Organisational details
Existing ensembles and individual players can register. Individual players will be grouped into ensembles beforehand. The aim is also to work on a piece together with all participants. Depending on the instrumentation, either a chamber music or a chamber orchestra piece is selected.
Pieces from the vast repertoire of chamber music are selected by the musical director Erdmute Maria Hohage and the sheet music is sent out in advance for individual preparation. Where possible, the preferences of individual participants/ensembles regarding particular periods or composers and pieces are taken into account.
During the course, participants have several hours of chamber music lessons and chamber orchestra rehearsals spread throughout the day. The Workshop concludes with a final concert in which all ensembles perform the pieces they have rehearsed. For many years, the choice of concert venue has also continued a tradition of bringing music to people who can no longer (naturally) attend concerts. The concert is organised by ema.
Accommodation is not included in the workshop fee. We are happy to assist in arranging private accommodation.
The workshop fee includes snacks and hot/cold drinks throughout the day. Meals (lunch/dinner) are not included. There are several places to eat in the surrounding area for those who prefer to dine out. You can also bring your own food or, as in previous years, order something or bring something to share at the "shared table". These details will be discussed on the first evening at the latest, but are usually organised in advance.
Rehearsals usually run from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00/9:00 p.m. The exact schedule is always determined on the actual course day. Lessons and individual practice alternate throughout the day.
First rehearsal/beginn of the Workshop: 4:30 p.m.
Conclusion/End of the Workshop: After the final concert, which is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
