Music Camp
Making music, learning, playing a concert and having fun together
Our Music Camp is a course lasting several days for children and young people aged 7 to 15/16 who play a string, wind or brass instrument. Whether you're a beginner or more advanced: everyone is welcome! For the duration of the course, participants stay overnight together with experienced tutors and dedicated supervisors in a youth hostel/suitable accommodation. In addition to intensive rehearsals in small groups, camber music ensembles and as a full orchestra, there are plenty of activities and opportunities to make new friends. The highlight of the Music Camp is a final public concert, where all participants take part. Spoken languages by the instructors (in general): German (main language), English, Chinese, Spanish. Most of the rehearsals are in German and with a translation, if necessary.

Organisational matters
Making music together in an orchestra is one of the main focus points of the music camp. Depending on the instrumentation, topic and programme, different orchestral ensembles are formed and pieces are rehearsed. The second main focus is playing chamber music. The ensembles are put together in advance according to the respective playing level of the participants.
Everyone gets the sheet music a few weeks in advance for individual preparation. The aim is for all participants to be able to play their parts beforehand. During the course, participants have several hours of chamber music lessons and orchestra rehearsals throughout the day, together with the other participants.
During the course, participants have several hours of chamber music lessons and orchestra rehearsals throughout the day. In the free hours there is a wide range of activities with games, fun and sport. The specific programme for each day is planned on site, as many factors and needs have to be taken into account that we do not know in advance.
For every music camp we find a suitable place to stay. We also attach great importance to being outdoors in nature. Normally, rehearsals also take place where we ‘live’. Details can be found in the relevant tender. Basic information can also be found in the course conditions.
For many, the final concert is a special highlight of the music camp. All participants present the works they have prepared. The music camp ends with the public concert. Transportation from the accommodation to the concert venue is organised by ema.
